NORDIC DANCE HELSINKI –
A WINDOW INTO SOCIAL FOLK DANCE
Nordic Dance Helsinki is a concept founded in 2018 offering opportunities to get to know social folk dance in Nordic context. At Nordic Dance events you can dance and learn dances based on Finnish and other Nordic traditions. The events always have live music and the workshops emphasize everyone’s own interpretation and style and the connection between dance and music.
Nordic Dance's goal is that at our events and workshops everyone can experience folk dance at their own level. You are welcome to attend whether you have never danced, are a beginner or an advanced level folk dancer.
The Nordic Dance Helsinki clubs consist of a workshop section where we learn different couple and other social dances in a relaxed manner. After the workshop the evening continues by a folk dance ball accompanied by the Nordic Dance Helsinki House Band and guest musicians.
In autumn 2023 Nordic Dance Helsinki clubs will be organized in cooperation with Tapanilan Kylätila.
Note!
We recommend bringing dance shoes or other indoor shoes with you! At Tapanilan Kylätila the outdoor shoes shall be left in the hall.
